Kleon is built to keep your data on your own Mac. This page says exactly what that means, and what this website records about visitors.

Who we are

Kleon is operated by Nil Amber Uğur, based in Turkey. You can reach us at info@kleon.app.

The Kleon app

• No account. You do not sign in to the app, and there is no Kleon server that holds your app data.
• Your data stays on your Mac. The apps, keywords, rankings and history you add are stored in a local store on your computer. We do not receive them.
• Requests to Apple. To check a ranking, the app sends requests from your Mac straight to Apple's App Store endpoints (search.itunes.apple.com and itunes.apple.com). These requests go to Apple, not to us. Apple's own terms and privacy policy apply to them.
• License check. The app sends your license key, an activation id and your Mac's name to our payment provider, Polar (api.polar.sh). This happens when you activate, about once a day after that, and when you deactivate a Mac. It lets you see and manage your activated Macs. Nothing about your apps or keywords is sent.
• Update check. If you allow automatic checks, or when you choose Check for Updates, the app reads a list of versions from kleon.app and downloads a new version from there. Our server log records that request like any other visit (see below). The app does not send a profile of your Mac.
• Control. The app shows where its data is stored and every address it contacts. You can export your data as JSON, delete one app, or delete everything at any time.

Purchases

Kleon is sold through Polar (polar.sh), which acts as the merchant of record: Polar takes the payment, charges any sales tax and sends the receipt and your license key. Polar and its payment processor handle your card details; we never see them. We receive the order details Polar shares with sellers, such as your name, email address, country, the plan you bought and your license's activations. We use them to provide the license and to answer you, and Polar keeps them for its legal and tax obligations. Polar's own privacy policy applies to the checkout.

This website

The website records two kinds of information, and nothing else.

• Server log. Our web server writes an access log with your IP address, browser (user agent), the page that sent you (referrer) and the page you requested. We keep it for 30 days. Only the owner can read it. We use it to keep the site working and to see which pages and automated crawlers request it.
• Anonymous visit events. The page sends a few events to our own server: an event name (for example, that the page was viewed and which channel sent you, or that a question was opened), a random visit id and the time. The random id is created for each page load and is not linked to you. The id and its first and last seen time are deleted after 90 days.

The website stores no cookies and no identifier on your device. It does not use third-party analytics, advertising or tracking tools.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask what we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, or to object to how it is used. Because visit ids are random and not linked to a person, we may not be able to find the data that belongs to you. Write to info@kleon.app and we will answer.

Changes

If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page.
