Before you start.
Where do the rankings come from?
From the App Store's own search, the same one people use, read up to 250 results deep. They match what a real person would see.
Do I need an account?
No. There's no sign-in and no Kleon server. Your apps, words and history live on your Mac.
Could it get me blocked?
Kleon is built to avoid that: it goes slowly, one request at a time, and stops after repeated errors. If Apple ever pushes back, it waits 15 minutes before asking again.
Does it suggest keywords?
No, on purpose. You choose your words. Kleon can show what the App Store itself suggests, in the store's own order, but it never scores or recommends anything.
What if a check fails?
It's shown as unknown, never as zero, and it never touches your history.
How does the license work?
After checkout you get a license key by email. Paste it into Kleon and it unlocks; the key works on up to 3 Macs. If you cancel a monthly or yearly plan, Kleon keeps working until the period ends.
Does it check in the background?
No. Kleon checks when you press Check, once a day or whenever you like, and it doesn't run while it's closed. A check of 24 words in 2 countries takes about a minute.
What does Kleon send over the network?
Searches to the App Store, a license check about once a day, and an update check about once a day from kleon.app. Nothing about you or your words goes to us. Settings shows every request under “What Kleon sends”.
Is there a free trial?
No. If Kleon doesn't work for you, ask Polar at support@polar.sh within 14 days of your first purchase for a full refund.
How do I cancel?
In Polar's customer portal: open it from Settings → License in Kleon, or from your purchase email. Kleon keeps working until the end of the period you paid for.
Can I move my license to a new Mac?
Yes. Choose Deactivate this Mac in Settings → License, or remove the old Mac in the customer portal, then paste your key on the new one. A key works on up to 3 Macs at once.
How do updates arrive?
Kleon can check kleon.app for a new version about once a day. You see what changed and choose when to install. Your data stays where it is.
